Ted Hughes’ series of poems, “Crow,” is currently exerting a profound influence on my creativity, rekindling within me the long-dormant urge to create paintings and drawings once more. This body of work seems to be a response both to Hughes’ evocative poetry and to my own particular stage in life—marked by the poignant transitions of children leaving home and the loss of parents.
